Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you. Thanks for keeping me updated, Amanda is on my Bible Study prayer list, and all of the moms want to know how she is doing. Hang in there!! Love, Kelly Duncan
Without question, our thoughts and prayers are with all of you, your physicians, and care givers. If you should need anything I can help with, please just ask. Our best to all of you. Sincerely, Karoline, Joan, and Christopher ps. This site is a great idea! kk
Thanks for all the love and support. Amanda is an amazing kid and we are faithful that this surgery will give her the best chance at becoming seizure free and to pick up developmentally. She underwent a bunch of developmental tests today and is having a pretty good day. She continues to be one of the happiest babies around, giving us big smiles and giggles despite the spasms. The UCLA adult and pediatric neurologists, neurosurgeons, epileptologists, and endocrinologists met today about Amanda. We will here tomorrow morning if there were any new insights brought up in the meeting. As far as we know, surgery (a left functional hemispherectomy) is still a go for Friday. The surgery should last 10-14 hours. Half of me can't wait for Friday to get here and the other half wants to freeze time here and now. Special thanks to all of you for your prayers and support during this time. We can feel the love and support out there and are remaining strong. Special thanks also to Amy and Todd for flying from Atlanta to Los Angeles, staying an hour to give blood for Amanda's surgery, and flying home the same day. What a tremendous gift to us!!!
